Radio
system trials showed that to provide the level of coverage required
it would be necessary to install a 'talk-through' base station at
a central point on the site. The base station equipment has been
located in the lift motor room and all communication on site is
by PBR handportables.
Three
Icom IC-F4GS radios are equipped with a 'man-down' option and are
reserved for use by personnel working in hazardous conditions and
at remote points on the site.
