PMR446 is a new licence-exempt radio service conceived as a low-cost entry level product into radio communication and open to anyone for either commercial or leisure activities. The service is restricted to low-power portable radios operating on one of eight pre-set UHF frequencies. The low power output restricts operational range to 1 - 2 km in normal use.

Many manufacturers, some not previously in the mobile communications field, are now producing PMR446 equipment. The most basic equipment is designed for use with disposable alkaline batteries and is very lightweight in constuction. We, as a company, choose to offer only professional quality equipment for which we can provide an after-sales service. All equipment we offer is supplied at a minimum with rechargeable cells and a charger. The highest tier equipment is built to the same standards as professional PBR radios from which users can expect many years of service.
