PHONE HANDS-FREE CAR KITS
As of 1st December 2003, it is a specific offence to use a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving. The penalty for doing so is a fixed £30 fine or up to £1000 on conviction in court (£2500 for drivers of goods vehicles, buses or coaches). There are plans to make the offence endorsable with three penalty points and a £60 fixed penalty in due course. Use of a hands-free car kit is not prohibited under the new regulations and should allow you to avoid falling foul of the new legislation. You should be aware that any distraction whilst driving could leave you at risk of prosecution for failing to have proper control of a vehicle. We can supply and install genuine hands-free car kits for most models of mobile phones from Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Siemens. Our standard installation includes the supply and fitting of a non-damaging handset bracket. Leather console type mounts to match the existing trim of some vehicles are available at extra cost. We can also optionally supply and fit an interface to route the hands-free kit audio through the vehicle’s radio speakers. This option results in an integrated package with enhanced audio quality. Our qualified engineers carry out all installation work in accordance with MPT1362. For further information and a quotation please contact us. |
