Our FleetLink system covering Norfolk and North Suffolk is a VHF MPT1327 trunked radio system currently serving over 200 subscribers.

What is FleetLink?

FleetLink is a shared access multi-channel two-way radio system using industry standard MPT1327 signalling protocols to provide an efficient, highly featured and resilient solution to user's communication requirements.

Benefits

The benefits of utilising FleetLink as a wide-area radio system are many:-

  • Low set-up costs
  • Wide area coverage at an economic price for small systems
  • No licence fees
  • No maintenance charges for base station equipment
  • Fixed monthly charge based on number of radio units
  • 'Intelligent', highly featured mobiles/handportables
  • Wide variety of call types and features:-
    • Individual calls
    • Group calls
    • General calls
    • Status messages
    • Short Data Messages (SDM)
    • Data calls
  • Resilient system infrastructure

Additionally, when compared with a single-channel CBS type system, channel congestion is far less common for a similar number of subscribers.

Equipment requirements

Equipment for use on the FleetLink system must conform to the MPT1327 standard. Equipment can be provided on a long term hire basis if required.

Charges

Subscribers are charged a fixed monthly fee per radio unit to use the FleetLink system.

Two levels of service are offered as standard - 'Fleetcall', which allows base-to-mobile and mobile-to-base communication, and the slightly more expensive 'Fleetcall+' which additionally allows individual and group mobile-to-mobile calls.
